RENEGADE a film by Jan Kounen

Blueberry, loosely based on the comic of the same name and re-named Renegade for its US release in 2004, is from visionary French director Jan Kounen who imbues the America Wild West with mystical and shamanic elements.

Based on his previous documentary Other Worlds, about Shapibo culture in Peru and his experiences with their hallucinatory healing brew made from plant vines called Ayahuasca, Kounen concocts a psychedelic western that masterfully weaves live-action and CGI to capture the most accurate representation of a head trip ever put on film.

In 1985, Pierre Buffin created BUF Compagnie, and has since become a leading innovator in the art of computer generated images and effects for film, commercials and videos.  Born and raised in Northern France, he has been widely celebrated both in Hollywood and the international film community.
